Learn what you should do after an accident

If you’ve ever been involved in an accident, you know how confusing the aftermath can seem. In my experience, people who have been injured in an accident often don’t understand the nature and degree of their injuries, who to contact, what to do, or how to properly record the event. Here are a few of the details that you should consider if you have had an automobile accident:

  1. Ask the driver of the other vehicle if they are okay and confirm their version of the events that caused the accident;

  2. Exchange insurance information with the driver of the other vehicle involved;

  3. Call a Law Enforcement Officer to report the accident and to get a police report;

  4. Report how the accident happened to the investigating Law Enforcement Officer;

  5. Report any pain you feel the accident has caused;

  6. Take photos of the accident scene;

  7. Alert your insurance company to the accident; and

  8. Contact us to handle the matter from there.
